Belgium prepares another container with medical supplies for Cuba

Brussels, Sep 29 (Prensa Latina) Cuban residents in Belgium and people in solidarity with the island are preparing a third container with donations for the health sector in the Caribbean country, Reinaldo Romero, coordinator of the project, said on Wednesday.

After the two containers sent to Cuba in July with medical supplies, we are already working on a new load, which will include tens of thousands of syringes, facemasks, hospital beds and other products, he told Prensa Latina.

According to Romero, the objective is to ship the donations to Cuba in November, as part of the initiative aimed at supporting the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, amid the challenge posed by the impact of the tightened US economic blockade against the Caribbean nation.

Belgian associations with a tradition of support to the Caribbean nation, among them Cubanismo.be, Friends of Cuba and others such as Salsa Bruges, joined to the Cuban residents’ initiative.

Romero told Prensa Latina that the challenges they face to materialize the initiative are not few, but the will and the collective work are powerful weapons to trust in this victory.
