In a statement, the organization recalled that Magaly Llort visited Peru as a guest of the Coordinator at one of the annual meetings of the binational Friendship houses in various Peruvian regions.
It added that, during that visit, Fernando Gonzalez’s mother said that she had five children for whose freedom she was fighting, and the wives and daughters of the five Cuban heroes who suffered unjust imprisonment in the United States participated in similar meetings.
‘The mothers, wives and all relatives of the Five Heroes were at the head of this great battle supported by Fidel Castro, the entire Cuban people and world solidarity, including Peru, until they were released,’ according to the press release.
The Coordinator expresses its condolences to Fernando Gonzalez Llort, president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), and to his comrades in prison.
