The Communist Party of India (Marxist), the Communist Party, the ‘Adelante’ (Forward) Bloc, the Revolutionary Socialist Party and the Liberation Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist) urged the people to show solidarity with the strike called for by farmers.

The protest will demand the government’s derogation of the three agricultural laws approved a year ago by Parliament, a joint statement said.

The declaration further noted that the farmers’ fight for the elimination of the controversial regulations and for the legal guarantee of the minimum support price for crops entered the tenth consecutive month.

Meanwhile, the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi refuses to talk with protesters.

Left-wing parties, while condemning the government’s stubbornness, demand that the agrarian laws be abolished immediately.

They also ask for the annulment of the government’s recent National Monetizing Plan, as well as the repeal of the new labor codes, which they claim affect workers.
