On his Twitter account, Cuba’s permanent mission at the UN noted that the meeting was convened by the Pro Tempore Secretariat of the Dominican Republic, the country that will organize the 28th Summit in 2022.
All 22 members of the Conference will meet next year under the slogan Together for a just and sustainable Ibero-America.
The Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government is the most important event held by this cooperation mechanism, which brings together Spanish and Portuguese-speaking nations from Latin America and Europe.
The last edition was held in Andorra on April 21, 2021, and was aimed at creating a common front to obtain Covid-19 vaccines and achieve a speedy economic recovery.
