During a speech at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, the Jordanian monarch pointed out that this is one of the oldest conflicts in modern history and it needs to be resolved with support of a global partnership.
Abdullah II reaffirmed Jordan’s commitment to preserve the historical and legal status of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites under Hashemite guardianship.
About the socio-economic crisis in Lebanon, he said that the international community must contribute so that the Arab nation saves from the current deteriorated situation it is experiencing.
According to the Jordanian monarch, despite victories in some battles fighting terrorism, extremism is still present and to combat it ‘our collective and global action is essential.’
