Representatives from Algeria, Angola, Belarus, Bolivia, Cambodia, China, Cuba, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Iran, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Nicaragua, State of Palestine, Russia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Syria and Venezuela reiterated the validity of the United Nations Charter on Thursday.

At a ministerial meeting on the margin of the UN General Assembly, the signatory nations of the declaration underscored that the founding document of the international organization has renewed values and relevance in the current situation.

They also expressed concern over the growing tendency to resort to unilateralism, to the detriment of international cooperation and solidarity, which must be deepened in order to forge collective, inclusive and effective solutions to common challenges and threats, the document noted.
