Rodriguez and Al-Thani, who is also the deputy prime minister of Qatar, met in the framework of the high-level segment of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which will run until September 27.

The head of Cuban diplomacy also met with the South African minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Naledi Pandor.

‘We noted with satisfaction the excellent state of bilateral relations and the historic ties of friendship and solidarity strengthened in the context of the pandemic,’ Rodriguez tweeted.
