ANVISA recommends Bolsonaro and delegation to UN on quarantine

Brasilia, Sep 22 (Prensa Latina) Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) on Wednesday recommended that President Jair Bolsonaro and the members of the delegation that accompanied him on his trip to New York follow a preventive quarantine.

The indication was the result of Health Minister Marcelo Queiroga testing positive for Covid-19 in the United States.

ANVISA sent a letter on Wednesday to the Civil House of the Presidency to give the headlines guidelines that follow the protective measures in case of a pandemic.

According to the regulatory body, everyone who had contact with the minister during the trip to New York, on the occasion of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly, must follow the provisions.

Among ANVISA’s health protocols is quarantine for 14 days after the last day of contact with the confirmed case, according to the Covid-19 Epidemiological Surveillance Guide published by the Ministry of Health.

To date, Brazil has accumulated 591,440 deaths and 21,247,094 contagions due to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19.
