Addressing a plenary session with representatives from 171 countries, Iranian nuclear chief Mohammad Eslami indicated that the Islamic Republic will make progress in its peaceful program without the possibility of stopping it.
Eslami criticized the United States’ withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) or nuclear deal, which Tehran sealed in 2015 with the 5+1 group (the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Russia and China plus Germany), abandoned by Washington in 2018.
The head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Agency explained that the Iranian Parliament passed a law to counteract the European JCPOA triad inaction in the face of the US hostility.
In any case, he added, the United States must lift its sanctions in an effective and verifiable way in order to save a multilateral consent that put in crisis due to its withdrawal.
