According to the German MEP, the mission analyzed the electoral process in all its details, included the campaign of candidates and political parties, the media, social media, vote counting and election results’ announcement.

Previously, she expressed her hope that the civic exercise would be free of violence and intimidation, and confirmed that some 80 EU observers will monitor the process.

Elections in Iraq were scheduled for 2022, but in the face of demands for mass demonstrations that occurred in 2019, the Government decided to bring them forward.
