Morales, who is the secretary of Organization and Cadre Policy, met with the Vietnamese leader about the implementation of the ideas, concepts and guidelines approved at the 8th PCC Congress.
He explained the current situation in Cuba, especially the tightening of the United States economic, commercial and financial blockade.
For his part, the Vietnamese leader, who is the president of the Internal Affairs Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, ratified his country’s invariable policy of supporting Cubans’ fight against the US blockade.
He reaffirmed the top leaders’ interest in continuing to strengthen the fraternal, friendly and solidarity ties.
In addition, both delegations supported the commitment to keep the legacy of the relations built by Cuban leaders Fidel and Raul Castro and Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh.
The Vietnamese delegation also included Truong Quang Hoai Nam, first vice president of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, among others.
