In the last 24 hours, 2,045 children under 18 years of age tested positive with Covid-19, 364 of whom are under six months of age and 10 are newborns, explained Lisset Perez, head of the National Pediatrics Group at the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), on a televised appearance.

If in the same period last year only seven percent of this group (five patients) were positive cases, right now we have reached 140,960 children and teenagers diagnosed with Covid-19, and 9,400 children under one year of age, she noted.

She insisted on the increase of cases in the provinces of Pinar del Rio and Sancti Spiritus, with high incidences of the disease. If adults get sick, we make children sick, the specialist warned.

Once again, she called for discipline, we must keep it in mind all the time, both when we go to the vaccination center and when we are in that place, waiting for the immunization with our children.
