The president reminded in his call to the polls that citizens can vote for their candidates for deputies starting tomorrow, when the polling stations will open, and until Sunday, September 19th.
He added that the voters also have the possibility of exercising remote electronic voting, since ‘modern technologies guarantee their security and reliability.’
According to the head of state, the election of a new composition of parliament is the most important event in the life of society and the country.
‘We are all interested in having responsible, active and qualified people coming to Parliament, capable of keeping their word, keeping their commitments and promises, and responding to the hopes and trust of the citizens of Russia,’ he said.
The President stressed that with the reforms to the Constitution, the State Duma has significant powers to approve the candidacies of the prime minister, his deputies and federal ministers.
‘We need a strong and authoritative parliament in which the elected Duma deputies act in the interests of Russia and our people,’ he said.
