The Safe Internet League detected more than 4,500 false publications about the elections to the State Duma (Lower House of the Russian Parliament), which will be held this weekend, its director Ekaterina Mizulina informed.
The Lower House will hold elections from September 17 to 19, to avoid gathering of people who could be conducive to the spread of the coronavirus.
Along with the elections of 450 legislators of the State Duma, the heads of nine constituent entities of Russia will hold direct elections (in three others, they will be elected by the legislators of the legislative assemblies) and 39 regional parliaments.
