Greek organizations reiterate solidarity with Cuba

Athens, Sep 14 (Prensa Latina) Greece´s political and social organizations doubled down on their support for Cuba and called for the end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba, diplomatic sources reported on Monday.

During a ceremony in the northern city of Veria, members of the Greek Committee for the Nobel Peace Prize to the Henry Reeve Medical Brigade, Greece´s Communist Party, unions and La Opinión Diferente newspaper´s staffer expressed their support for Cuba.

The event was held at the Agia Paraskevi Theater and attended by doctors, attorneys, professors, civil war fighters and artists, who highlighted the existing ties between both countries.

On the other hand, the Coordinator of Greek Committee Velissarios Kossivakis expressed his condemnation of the US blockade against and attacks on Cuba.

Cuban Ambassador to Greece Zelmys Domínguez thanked the solidarity offered by the European country at a time marked by the tightening of aggressive US policy and manipulation.
