On his Twitter account, the president expressed his condolences to Reinoso’s widow, Maria Teresa Valdes, family, colleagues and friends.
‘National Radio Award winner Franklin Reinoso Rivas has died in our common city, #SantaClara. Another blow from #COVID19 that we are committed to eradicating,’ the head of State tweeted.
Reinoso was an outstanding Radio announcer and program director with more than 60 years of work, mainly in stations in central Villa Clara province.
He was a founding member of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) in 1980, as well as president of the provincial Chair of Speech and member of the National Chair.
For his merits, he was awarded with the Status of Artist of Merit of Cuban Radio, the Radio Microphone award in 2004, the Majadahonda Order as an internationalist artist, the 85th Anniversary Seal of Cuban Radio, and the Key to the City of Santa Clara, among many other decorations. jg/lcr/mem/idm
