Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a communique that the airstrike targeted the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), which controls the coastal enclave where two million inhabitants live.
The army justified its umpteenth attack on the overcrowded area by noting that it was in response to the firing of homemade rockets by Hamas against the Israeli state.
Press reports noted that the IDF attacked sites in the towns of Beit Lahiya (north), Deir al-Balah (center) and Khan Yunis (south).
