In exclusive statements to Prensa Latina, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister said that the Cuban breakthroughs are an undeniable reality and described the US blockade as a resounding failure, which has led the United States to international discredit. ‘It is a stupid, irrelevant endeavor, because it has not given them (U.S.) no serious results, just making the Cuban people suffer,’ he stated.

Placencia recalled that the attacks and defamations against the Cuban Revolution and leaders are the same old stories. They have been in progress for over 60 years, being the same ones already rolled out under Fidel and Raúl Castro.

Cubans, he said, build their own dreams, fight for their country and are happy in it. Despite all unilateral coercive measures imposed by Washington to stifle Cuba´s economy, they are still back in actions and enjoy their happiness, the one they really want, not the one imposed from the White House.

In his statements to Prensa Latina, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister reiterated his country´s support for the Cuban people and government. We will condemn the US blockade in any multilateral forum, in any scenario. We will always reject Washington’s interest in attacking Cuba and we will defend Cuba´s right to build its own future.

Mr. Placencia sent a heartfelt greeting to Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez and to all the Cuban people.

‘We Venezuelans will stand by Cuba’s side, in any circumstance. We will defend your dignity and principles, wherever necessary, shoulder to shoulder,’ Placencia stressed.
