A first batch of syringes and protective means arrived in the Guillermo Luis Hernandez Hospital, located in Moa municipality, in eastern Holguin province, while 900 rapid test kits for coronavirus are expected to arrive in the next few days.
Beatriz Heredia, a director of Public Health in that eastern territory, thanked the aid provided by that shipping company, based in the Netherlands, which, in this way, contributes to the fight against Covid-19 in Moa, one of the hardest-hit localities in Holguin.
For his part, Julio Cesar Chavez, Nirint’s representative in eastern Cuba, explained that facing the tense situation nationwide, they decided to materialize this contribution, estimated at 45,220 euros, consisting of 150,000 gloves, 50,000 facemasks and 500,000 syringes with needles.
This shipping company has been present in Cuba for approximately two decades, with contracts related to the nickel industry in Moa and the transportation of supplies for other companies in the country.
