Prime Minister Ariel Henry met with representatives of several political, economic and social sectors with a 29-item agreement proposal, which promotes a ‘transparent’ electoral process, a climate of security, and the fight against corruption, smuggling and impunity.

It also includes strengthening the judicial system, along with investigations into massacres and extrajudicial executions.

On Thursday, Henry met with members of the Democratic and Popular Sector and representatives of the diaspora, as part of his search for consensus.

Two months after President Jovenel Moïse was assassinated and amid a resurgence of kidnappings and murders by armed gangs, the lack of consensus threatens to destabilize the nation even more, according to experts.
