Both Aoun and Miqati signed a decree in the presence of the head of the unicameral parliament, Nabih Berri, which appoints a cabinet of 24 ministries with members without affiliation to political parties.

After the expected news, the head of government noted that he expected to stop the collapse of the country and regain prosperity.

Miqati reiterated that the national situation was very difficult and there will be a belt tightening for all and that he contemplates improving ties with the Arab world, seeking help from the international community and avoiding internal dividing policies.
