Caribbean countries to send humanitarian aid to Cuba

Caracas, Sep 10 (Prensa Latina) Several Caribbean countries will send a shipment of humanitarian aid to Cuba, Banco del Alba, attached to the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), reported on Friday.

The shipment of medical supplies will arrive in Cuban through the air bridge activated between the financial institution and the Venezuelan Consortium of Aeronautical Industries and Air Services (Conviasa).

‘Thanks to the solidarity of Barbados, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines; 3,500 kilograms of medical supplies will be sent to the brotherly people of Cuba, through the humanitarian airlift implemented by Banco del Alba and Conviasa,’ the bank stressed on Twitter.

During the summit of heads of State and Government held on June 24 in Caracas, the ALBA-TCP countries ratified their commitment to strengthening cooperation mechanisms to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic.
