A Cuban delegation attends the 27th edition of the International Leisure Tourism Fair in Moscow. It is aimed at promoting Cuban destination and reaching a good winter season from Russian tourism.
In exclusive statements to Prensa Latina, Ms. Orellana recalled that Russian sightseers have begun to play a key role in visiting Cuba since 2017. She cleared out that during the arrivals of Russian visitors to Cuba amid the pandemic, local government has taken into account the epidemiological measures to protect people´s and tourism workers´ health, so Russian holidaymakers enjoyed their stay at Varadero and Cayo Coco resorts.
During its busy agenda, the Cuban delegation has scheduled to meet with Russian tour operators, businessmen, travel agents, representatives of airlines and state-run tourism institutions.
On Monday, Ms. Orellana was received by Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Riabkov, with whom she addressed the need to lift the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba.
In this regard, both sides described as ‘categorically unacceptable’ the imposition of unilateral sanctions ‘in violation of the Charter of the United Nations, in addition to the universal principles and norms of international law.’
