Despite all the attacks, the Cuban people will once again be an example of solidarity by taking their vaccines wherever necessary, stressed Pineda, who has been a member of the EP within the Confederal Group of the European United Left/Nordic Green Left since 2019.
On his Twitter account, the MEP stressed that the European Parliament ‘only talks about Cuba to act as striker against its Government, never to denounce the criminal blockade the island has been suffering,’ using a soccer term.
Pineda commented that he came to the Chamber with the idea of listening to a reflection about the damages caused by the economic, financial and commercial blockade that Washington has imposed on Havana for more than six decades.
After listening to some speeches questioning everything Cuba does, I think that the best thing to do is to value the reality of its contribution to the world, he added.
Upon talking about the issue, Pineda praised the three vaccines developed by the Cuban scientists, which are being administrated in Cuba, ‘with high efficacy.’
