Military-appointed official should ‘immediately leave their posts,’ said La, who urged members of the security forces to join them and ethnic militias in border areas to attack the military.
Myanmar’s military overthrew the elected government on February 1, sparking a wave of protests and thousands of deaths as security forces tried to quell the demonstrations.
Coup leader Min Aung Hlaing assumed the role of prime minister in a newly formed interim government last month and pledged to hold new elections by 2023.
