At the Peru-Cuba Relations Commission, Mr. Maúrtua said that ‘Peru has spoken out for the end of the unilateral US blockade, as it has been repeatedly stated at the United Nations.’
Us blockade has been rejected by broad social and political sectors, and there is a vast Peruvian movement of solidarity with Cuba and against the US policy.
Mr. Maúrtua also said that the Peru-Cuba relations ‘are characterized by being historically friendly and pragmatic, based on the mutual respect principles and the interest in developing ties especially in cultural and cooperation spheres.’
