Su received Amoros at the governor’s office. The Cuban diplomat also held meetings with other authorities and entrepreneurs from the province.
Likewise, the ambassador and the mayor of the municipality of Yenisehir, Abdullah Ozyigit, discussed the possibilities of cooperation with Cuba, particularly in the biopharmaceutical sector.
Amoros also met with entrepreneurs from Mersin, with the special participation of the mayor, the vice president of the provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Hakan Sefa Çakir, and the president of the Chamber of Shipping, Cihat Lokamnaglu.
During the meeting the ambassador presented Cuba’s exportable offers and foreign investment opportunities, particularly in the Mariel Special Development Zone.
The participants acknowledged the growing interest of Turkish entrepreneurs in the Cuban market and the investment possibilities in the Caribbean island.
Both parties agreed to further boost exchanges between entrepreneurs from the two countries and other initiatives to increase bilateral trade and investment.
At the meeting with the governor, the diplomat updated him on Cuba’s situation, especially the defamation campaign against the country and the tightening of the United States blockade.
He also informed him about the Cuban government’s efforts to fight Covid-19 and the successful development of five vaccine candidates against the disease, three of them already authorized for emergency use.
