‘Lula is innocent. The rest is imagination or slander,’ said Amorin, who is also the former Defense minister, during an interview with TV 247.
According to law and the Constitution, ‘everyone is innocent until proven guilty. And there is no evidence. So he is innocent,’ he stressed.
Amorin recalled that all the judicial sanctions against the founder of the Workers’ Party were annulled and that, therefore, he is innocent, and a discussion about it is not at stake.
‘It is a right not to support either Lula or (President Jair) Bolsonaro, but it is a huge and tremendous mistake at this point to disqualify Lula after everything that has already happened, all the actions by the Supreme Court, which declared all the charges void,’ he insisted.
Amorim stressed that ‘Lula is innocent, it is useless to say that he is not. He is innocent’!
The former labor leader widened his lead over the incumbent president in vote intentions for the 2022 elections, a survey published on September 1.
