The director of Consular Affairs and Cuban Residents Abroad at the Foreign Ministry, Ernesto Soberon, made the announcement on this on his Twitter account.
Soberon said that the extension, automatic and free of charge, of an uninterrupted stay outside the country, beyond 24 months, as well as the condition of residents in the national territory, will continue to be in force until further notice.
The measure that Cuban citizens residing in Cuba, unable to return because of the pandemic, may return, exceptionally, with their expired passport and without extending it, remains in force, the official tweeted.
In his message, Soberon assured that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue facilitating the completion of remote procedures in Cuban consulates and consular offices.
