In a commentary after concluding the Sunday’s Angelus prayer in front of parishioners gathered in St. Peter’s Square, the Supreme Pontiff noted that ‘I pray that many countries receive and protect those who seek a new life’ and for ‘the internally displaced, so that they receive the necessary assistance and protection.’
In that regard, he advocated that young Afghans receive education, which he described as ‘an essential good for human development’ and that all the natives of Afghanistan may live with dignity, in peace and fraternity with their neighbors, in their own country, in transit or in the host nations.
