The state government spokesman Ahmed Matane said that due to the increased crime rate, the gasoline sale at gas stations was limited, and it banned to sale fuel in cans.
Such provisions are due to the fact that criminal groups, known locally as bandits, often use motorcycles to steal livestock and kidnap civilians, among other unlawful activities, the Africa News reported.
In addition to establishing a night curfew for moto-taxi and motorcycle drivers, local authorities banned the transportation of more than two people on these means.
Measures similar to those established in Niger to clamp down on violence are also applied in Katsina, Kaduna and Zamfara.
