The expert pointed out that the initial group, with the first dose of the Abdala vaccine, is made up of over 6,000 minors who are in the last year of their corresponding schooling levels, such as 12th grade, fourth year of pedagogical training and third year of technical-professional education.

She indicated that 50 vaccination centers have already been set up in the province and will receive a second group from September 10 for teenagers from 11 to 18 years old, and finally children from 2 to 10 years old.

Dr. Rodriguez added that organizational measures were taken to optimize the whole hygienic and sanitary process in order to protect the health of minors.

The vaccination process is related to the school year, which will start in September, first through televised teaching activities and later in person, as soon as all students are immunized, as recently reported by Cuba’s Minister of Education, Ena Elsa Velazquez.
