The security services detected pressure on employees of the Electoral Commission to provoke chaos during the elections, the communique stated.
According to the note, the suspects built ties with those employees with the aim of provoking chaos through a social media, including a site called ‘The Green Lady.’
This is the second time in recent days authorities announced that they had thwarted such attempts.
Meanwhile, Essam Hussein, a member of the Sadr Movement, stressed about the coldness with which the Iraqi people assume the upcoming elections.
The Iraqi parliamentary elections will put 329 seats in the legislative body at stake, for which more than 3,200 candidates are running.
