In statements to Prensa Latina, organizers explained that both South African Trade Unions Congress and Alliance partners (ANC, SACP and SANCO) will hold a National Day of Action in support for the Cuban people and Revolution.
These associations will call vehicle caravans to protest against US blockade, and will also put some pressure on and advocate for the sending of humanitarian aid for the Cuban people.
These events will be conducted in three South African provinces: Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.
US blockade, severely imposed on Cuba, has reduced opportunities to import food, medical supplies and fuel, thus creating a humanitarian crisis amid this global pandemic.
We, friends of the Cuban people, continue to be inspired by their resistance and self-denial, even in these difficult economic conditions.
We call on all South Africans to contribute to this humanitarian cause and support the right to self-determination of the Cuban people.
