Kremlin spokesman rejects NATO’s rapprochement to borders

Moscow, Sep 2 (Prensa Latina) Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Thursday rejected the rapprochement by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to the borders, during a meeting with journalists attending the Eastern Economic Forum taking place in Vladivostok.

‘The president of Russia has repeatedly stated our very clear, understandable and consistent position regarding that NATO’s military infrastructure continues approaching our borders, and we do not like this at all,’ the official said.

Peskov expressed that Moscow is also against US plans to provide military assistance to Ukraine, discussed by President Volodymyr Zelensky during his visit to Washington, RIA Novosti reported.

During the exchange, the Presidency’s press secretary expressed that the Kremlin is against Washington and Kiev’s attacks to the nearly complete Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline between Russia and Germany, which they regard as an alleged threat to Ukraine and Europe.
