The Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on Thursday that the Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev had held a positive telephone conversation on the matter with the EU’s special representative for Central Asia, Terhi Hakala.
Kazakbaev congratulated the European diplomat on her appointment to a senior position and expressed hope that she will continue the course of comprehensive development and strengthening of bilateral cooperation.
According to the source, both sides discussed issues related to high-level bilateral visits this year, as well as joint preparations for the Forum.
Hakala confirmed the EU’s readiness to expand the partnership with Kyrgyzstan, welcomed plans to organize mutual visits, and conveyed congratulations on the 30th anniversary of the Republic’s independence.
In addition, she assured that it will help accelerate the signing of an agreement on expanded partnership and cooperation between the two parties.
