Donation from Dominican Republic is unloaded in Santiago de Cuba

Santiago de Cuba, Sep 1 (Prensa Latina) Workers from the docks in this city unloaded today a solidarity shipment from the Government of the Dominican Republic with necessary supplies to fight Covid-19.

The donation, of more than 12 tons and a monetary value of around 600 thousand dollars, includes accessories for personal health protection and medicines, mainly antibiotics and others widely used in facing the pandemic.

According to sources from the provincial executive, these resources will be received tomorrow in the warehouses of the Medicine Marketing and Distribution Company in the city for their subsequent distribution in hospitals and other centers of the Health system.

To this fraternal turn will be added another donation that will arrive by air with materials collected by Cuban residents and activists of solidarity with Cuba in the Dominican republic.

Equally outstanding are the monetary contributions in a bank account for the acquisition of these items and the payment for transportation.

The initiative of the authorities of that Caribbean nation and sectors of its population to help Cubans in the middle of a difficult situation with the pandemic and economic difficulties is received here with the infinite gratitude of brother peoples.
