In his daily press briefing, Dr. Francisco Durán, MINSAP´s National Director of Epidemiology, detailed that 22 of new infections were imported, while the remaining are autochthonous, totalling 640,438 cases.
Among Covid-19 death figures reported in past 24 hours include a 28-year-old pregnant woman, so Cuba´s death toll jumped to 5,144, Dr. Durán stressed.
5.6% of new cases were asymptomatic, after which Cuba has accumulated 117,187 confirmed asymptomatic cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
The number of 1,483 infected children (younger than 18 years old) was less worrying than in previous days (even though it continues to be too high), among which 166 under one year, 65 of which do not exceed six months of birth.
Havana continues to be one of the provinces most hit by the disease, reporting 857 new cases in last hours; followed by Pinar del Río (780) and Holguín (572).
