Cuban Ambassador to Switzerland Juan Antonio Quintanilla Roman referred to the attempts to destabilize his country, the criminal blockade imposed by the United States, and the fierce hostile media campaign against Cuba, diplomatic sources reported on Saturday.

According to Quintanilla, Cuba has gone through difficult times for some years, and the unease created by this situation has been widely covered by Western media.

However, the Cuban diplomat added, such press will hardly recognize the true causes of the economic difficulties that Cuba is going through, and the role of the criminal blockade imposed by the United States to strangle the Revolution they so much dislike.

US President Joe Biden further tightened the illegal sanctions against Cuba approved by his predecessor, Donald Trump, in an effort to subdue a people who are not willing to be broken, the ambassador said.

But the Cuban Revolution will not be defeated so easily, and it will remain loyal to its internationalist duty, concluded Quintanilla, who expressed gratitude for the Swiss Labor Party’s solidarity with Cuba.
