The remnants of illegal armed groups in Deraa reportedly murdered 250 army and police personnel, 18 mayors and 116 civilians, as well as injuring some 500 civilians and soldiers.
That province was allegedly free of terrorism in the summer of 2018 following a Russian-sponsored reconciliation process, in which the extremists surrendered their medium and heavy weapons, while the rest left for the northern province of Idlib.
Tense situation prevails in that province due to the rejection of the terrorist groupings to the reconciliation proposed by the Syrian Army.
Meanwhile, eight gunmen left the neighborhood of Deraa al-Balad in the provincial head to the northern part of the country in compliance with an agreement reached through Russian mediation between the Syrian Army and the terrorist groups.
