According to a statement released on Wednesday, other events related to the convention will be held as well, such as the 8th International Workshop ‘Higher EducationChallenges in the face of develoment and the 5th Symposium on Tourism and Travel Studies.
The Faculty of Toursim of the University of Havana will be the institution convening these events, which have been held in 2010, 2012, 2016 and 2018.
The novelties of this 5th edition will be the inclusion of an event devoted to tourism students; another one will discuss Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), and there will be one on inclusive tourism.
This type of event, which will be hybrid (in person and virtual), will address some international tourism issues.
It will discuss travel and hospitality when the Covid-19 pandemic ends, Neuromarketing, smart destinations, relation with culture, demand forecasts, market research, necessary jurisprudence, sustainability in the 21st century and education.
Cuba seeks to recover its tourism industry, so it continues to develop infrastructures and studies despite the pandemic, before which the country regularly received more than 4 million tourists annually.
