The vice president of Parliament, Elie Ferzli, said in a statement that the next days will witness the birth of the cabinet or else the designated Prime Minister, Najib Miqati, will resign.
In his words, if Miqati decides to step aside, the country could face a political crisis open to all eventualities.
Deputy Simon Abi Ramia, from the Free Patriotic Stream party, had warned that if an executive does not emerge immediately, the country is heading towards collapse.
Despite these gloomy forecasts, the President of the Republic, Michel Aoun, is confident that the cabinet nomination is close.
Aoun assured citizens that the government alignment will emerge in cooperation with Miqati.
Local and regional efforts and beyond failed to break the stalemate to form a government in Lebanon, which has lacked it since August 10th, 2020.
