President Biden’s approval rating crashed to 41%, with 62% of those interviewed disapproved of the way his administration has handled the Afghanistan withdrawal, a USA Today-Suffolk University study said.
60% of the 1,000 surveyed by telephone (from August 19 to 23) considered that the war in Afghanistan was not worth it, and a half was in favor of the Afghanistan withdrawal, although not in the way it is currently taking place.
Since last week, Biden’s approval ratings have plummeted just to 50% in several polls.
On Monday, a Hill-HarrisX poll, conducted from August 20 to 21, showed that President Biden´s approval rating dropped by six points compared to 55% at the beginning of the month.
Added to the situation in Afghanistan, where US troops spent two decades in an alleged anti-terrorist crusade, is added the increased Covid-19 cases reported in the United States.
Migration crisis at Mexico-US border and domestic economy were also issues that weigh against the Democratic politician, said David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center (SUPRC), quoted by the USA Today newspaper.
