In a letter addressed to UNEAC President Luis Morlote, Lazo said that some of its deputies have always been the most renowned Cuban writers and artists.
He said that the patriotic commitment of the artistic and literary avant-garde has full relevance, ‘when the enemies of those dreams insist on fragmenting society, sowing confusion, breaking the dialogue with creators and eroding our culture as an expression of the national sentiment.’
In his letter, Lazo extended the parliament’s acknowledgement for the work of the leaders and members of that organization, who, he pointed out, contribute to reducing the physical and spiritual effects of the pandemic and the US blockade against Cuba.
