The President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi anticipated that the pact should be revived by Europe and the United States, especially the latter, who abandoned it in May 2018.
Raisi appreciated the importance of lifting all the anti-Iranian measures ordered by Washington and stated that his government will support any initiative aimed at that objective.
Zohreh Elahian, from the National Security Committee of the Iranian Parliament, pointed out that the head of state supports the dialogue in Vienna, Austria, dedicated to reactivating the JCPOA.
‘The talks did not reach any results during the previous government, and we will not see the same from now on,’ he said.
The president ratified that nuclear weapons in Iran were banned by a mandate from the leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ali Khamenei, and therefore, the Iranian nuclear program is peaceful.
There is no place for nuclear weapons in Iran’s defensive strategy, Raisi reaffirmed.
