A month and a half after the legislative elections, this is the second time that a political force has failed to tackle the formation of the new administration.
Days ago There Is Such a People party (ITN), the most voted organizaion in those elections, under the leadership of Slavi Trifonov, withdrew its proposal to form a minority government, so the remaining alternative is the leftist Coalition for Bulgaria. If this attempt fails, too, the country would be headed to new legislative elections that would coincide with the presidential elections agreed for this year. In such a scenario, analysts foresee talks to consolidate the current executive.
The other alternative is to unite both processes in a general election in the hope of putting an end to the misgovernment prevailing in the poorest nation of the European Union since last year when the protests against Borisov, then prime minister, began.
