The president said that the Ministry of Defense is creating a strong infrastructure with military units along the entire border perimeter, from Murovdag to Araz River, Azertac news agency informed.
He stated that the dividing line between the two countries was under Yerevan’s control for almost 30 years. He explained that as of May, the country began to strengthen its presence in that region.
Aliyev described Armenia’s claims about alleged attempts by Azerbaijani Forces units to invade Armenian territory as ‘absolutely unfounded.’ ‘We are in our land,’ he said.
The bordering conflict between Baku and Yerevan escalated as of May 12, when the Armenian Ministry of Defense denounced that its Azerbaijani counterpart tried to carry out ‘certain works’ in one of the bordering areas in the Siunik region to ‘adjust the border.’
