In a message on Twitter, the president highlighted the success of the open primary elections (EPA) held on August 8, in which the organization’s militants chose its candidates for governors and mayors.
‘The Venezuelan people made history in PSUV primary elections, showing the world the joy and commitment that characterizes us. In absolute unity our candidates go to the mega-elections on November 21, they will consolidate the victory’, the head of State said.
During a recent meeting with the candidates of the country’s main political organization for governors and mayors, Maduro called for building a powerful alliance to achieve victory in the upcoming elections. In this sense, the also president of PSUV asked all officials to put themselves at the immediate command of the elected or appointed candidates, in order to consolidate political unity and guarantee victory at polls.
He also emphasized that the nomination process in base assemblies and the subsequent primary elections led to the renewal of 90 percent of the socialist candidacies for mayors and 60 percent in the case of governors.
