The head of the second Asia department of the Foreign Ministry said that such a decision will be possible only if all the members of the Security Council are sure that the new government is ready to behave ‘in a civilized manner’.
Speaking to the Russia 24 television channel, the official clarified that when this view is common to all the member countries of this UN body, the procedure will begin.
Kabulov added that his country intends to help the people of Afghanistan because ‘we are concerned about the Afghans who were abandoned by the bankrupt puppet politicians.’
‘ We will solve this situation step by step with civilized methods so that they will live more comfortably, as far as possible,’ he commented, while expressing hope that the new authorities will respect elementary human rights.
In another part of the interview, the diplomat noted that Russia is not guided by the opinion of the European Union (EU) countries in developing its policy regarding the situation in Afghanistan.
He said that a special feature of EU members ‘is to make foreign policy mistakes.
They have already made one, for which the Afghan people are paying. Therefore, they are not, as they say, an authority or an example for us,’ he stated.
