As in his previous interviews with Laotian leaders, Xuan Phuc reiterated Hanoi’s willingness to take the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries to higher levels.
On his first trip abroad since he took office, the head of the Vietnamese Government concludes on Tuesday an official visit to the neighboring nation. Laotian leaders said they appreciate this as a revealing gesture of the importance Vietnam attaches to the bilateral relations.
During his talks with Phomvihane, Xuan Phuc called to intensify exchanges between the respective Legislatures and they coordinate actions to agree on the binational political, economic and cooperation treaties, as well as their positions in inter-parliamentary, regional and international forums.
Xuan Phuc attended this Tuesday the first session of the Lao National Assembly in its 9th Legislature, held in a brand new building donated by Vietnam and opened on occasion of his visit.
On Monday, the Vietnamese president held official talks with his Lao counterpart and General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, Thongloun Sisoulith, with whom he agreed to take the ties of friendship and cooperation between their countries to higher levels.
The two heads of State agreed to expeditiously and effectively implement the bilateral cooperation agreement for the 2021-2025 period, signed during Sisoulith’s visit to Hanoi by late June.
They also pave the way for the implementation of the mutual collaboration strategy until 2030.
